Everest Base Camp- Cho la pass- Gokyo lake trekking is one of the popular and challenging trekking routes in the Everest region and one of Nepal’s most famous trekking to the Khumbu Mountains area. After a wonderful flight to Lukla, We follow the Dudh Kosi river to Namche. At Namche, you will have a rest day.
Next day we will pass through Tengboche, a magnificent location with an attractive monastery, where we spend one night and enjoy the incredible scenery, including beautiful views of Everest (8,848m), Ama Dablam (6,856m), Kantega (6,809m), Kwangde (6,194m), Nuptse (7,879m), Lhotse (8,511m) and many other peaks of Khumbu Himalaya range.
After that, we will continue trekking to Dingboche, we will have one acclimatization day here. We will take you to Chhukung Ri (5,546 m) from there, we can observe the fifth highest mountain Makalu(8462m). We continue trekking towards Gorak Shep, Everest Base Camp and hike to Kala Pattar (5,545m) from where we enjoy an impressive up-close view of Everest and Pumori.
The trail to Chola pass is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through snow-capped mountain after Chola pass ( 5,324m) trekking down to Thangnak then you will see small lake then we reach the Gokyo lakes where we climb the Gokyo Peak (5,360m) and enjoy stunning summit mountain scenery including Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyo Etc. After Gokyo, we return at a leisurely pace to Namche and Lukla for our flight back to Kathmandu.
Trekking to the Everest Base camp is common among the new trekkers. But only a few know and go all the way to Chola pass. It is more adventurous, difficult and challenging compared to other base camps. You will see the natural beauty of the Himalayas and the rich Sherpa culture of the Dzongla and Thanlak village along the way.
The trek starts from the Kathmandu valley and ends at Namche Bazaar. You will reach the Chola pass right in front of the Mount Everest along the way. On a clear day, you will be able to see to the peak of Mount Everest from there. The scene is beautiful and heavenly to watch. The way might be quite challenging if you are new to this but the scenario along the way and the final destination is worth the challenge.
You will find varieties of vegetation (red rhododendron, pine spruce tree, etc.) and wildlife along the way. The ice caps melt and forms into a beautiful waterfall sparkling in the sunlight. Besides this, you can also get a glimpse of Gokyo RI, Choyo, Lhotse and Makalu Himal.
The trip usually takes more than 19 days to complete depending upon your stamina and the condition of the weather.
The Everest base camp + Chola pass is an advanced trekking route that gives you a sense of adventure. Although the total trekking is quite difficult, the view along the way and the final destination is worth it.

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m). Walking 6 hours. overnight at guest house.
Acclimatization day at Namche Bazzar. Walking 5 hours, overnight at guest house.
Trek from Namche to Tengboche(3,867m). Walking 5 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche(4,410m). Walking 6 hours, overnight at guest house.

Full day sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley (Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath, Patan and Bhaktapur durbar square). Overnight at hotel.
Transfer to international airport for your final flight departure.

What you should pack for Everest Chola Pass Trekking depends on the season / time that you’ll go on trek on :
If you wish to go on a Everest Chola Pass Trek during the peak season (September to October), you may not require really warm clothes, Windcheaters, boots, etc. can be just fine. However, if you plan to trek during winter season (Mid November to December), you’ll have to pack warm clothes
