Chulu Peak is a part of the bigger Damodar Himalayan Range, which lies in the Manang district of western Nepal. It is situated in the North-East part of the popular Annapurna Mountain range of Nepal. Chulu Peak climbing is one of the most preferred adventurous activities of Nepal, and you will get to view the beautiful mountains of Nepal.

The Chulu Peak climbing is a 20 days adventurous peak climbing that takes you to one of the most preferred mountainous areas of the world. As the peak of the Chulu is ain a high altitude and helps you explore the Annapurna region of Nepal, it is one of the most adventurous mountaineering climbs. The peak climbing not only brings you closer to the Himalayas of Nepal but also helps you explore the diverse biodiversity of Nepal.

Chulu Peak is an important part of Manag Himal as it combines with the Damodar Himal. It is bounded by the Marsyandi River and Mesokanta in the south, Parhekya La in the north,  and Kali Gandaki in the west. It stands at an elevation of 6.584 meters and makes it great for mountain climbing. It offers the climbers a great view of the famous mountains of Nepal, which includes; Mt. Annapurna. Mt. Tilicho, Mt. Manaslu, and Annapurna Mountain range.

It requires mountaineering experience as well as skills as it is one of the most adventurous climbing routes in high altitudes of Nepal. You will get to explore the beauty of the beautiful waterfall, lush green forests as well as different glaciers on your way.

Climbing Routes for Chulu

You can choose one among the west and the east routes for Chulu Peak climbing. However, the most preferred one if the western route.

The trek will begin from the drive to Khudi, which will connect you to the road that leads you to one of the highest valleys of the world, Manang Valley. Then, you will head continuously to the west, and you will through the main trail of the Annapurna circuit. As you proceed with the path, you will be able to climb the Chulu Peak in a few days. As you complete your trip, you will be back through the Thorong-La Pass and lead to the Muktinath area. After that, you will come back to Pokhara from Jomsom. You can choose a flight or a drive to Pokhara.  

 

Best Season for the Chulu Peak Climbing

If you are in look for the best season for the Chulu Peak Climbing, you should basically choose the season of autumn or the spring. The autumn season is from the month of September to October, and the spring is from the month of March to May. During the autumn and the spring season, mountain climbing is good in Nepal as the sky is clear and visible. It won’t make it difficult for you to complete your trek bringing the weather obstacles. Some people choose winter for Chulu Peak Climbing. We do not recommend you winter season as the weather in the peak can be extremely rough during the winter season with freezing cold and snowfall. Hence, choose the right weather before you plan our trek.

Difficulties that you might face during Chulu Peak Climbing

As the trek takes you to the mighty Himalaya above 6000 meters, the difficulty for the trek is on an extreme level. Traveling to the high altitude can bring you the problems of altitude sickness, which is quite sure in the Chulu Peak climbing. The amount of oxygen can decrease, and you might also face the challenge of mountain sickness, which coms with frequent headaches, poor sleep, poor appetite, and fatigue. Hence, it would help if you prepared yourself physically before you plan the Chulu Peak Climbing. Make sure that you carry the necessary equipment with you before you try the Chulu Peak Climbing and make yourself physically fit as well.
